My Grandkids and I have a tradition of doing a sunset dance whenever we are together at sunset. It is joyous, heartwarming and can end in complete silliness. Painting fills me with those same feelings.
I've been a wanna-be artist my whole life, but I thought being an artist meant perfect realism. Well, it only took me 5o some years to figure out that being an artist comes in many forms. So for the second half of my life, I am fully embracing my artistic journey!
As a self taught artist, I am always learning something new- usually by trial and error-and falling in love with many different mediums. I originally began my creating with alcohol inks and have since enjoyed playing with watercolors, digital art,and fiber arts. However, acrylic inks have become my new passion. My art style is heavily influenced by nature and the dazzling world around us. The inks are the perfect medium for me to convey its beauty, warmth and even a bit of silliness.
I like to say my work leans toward abstract realism with a hint of “feel-good.”
As you browse through my paintings, think of them as a bit of a sunset dance through art- filling your heart with joy, warmth and a bit of silliness.
Most of my art is available in traditional photo prints or metal prints and some are available in notecards. If you don't see a size of print or metal that you would like, please contact me.
Traditional Prints: Professionally printed on professional quality photo paper and come with bright white acid-free matting.
Giclee Canvas Wraps: These canvases are made with very high quality materials and are 100% archival fine art giclees. They come with canvas backing and wire hanging hardware.
Metal Prints: Printed on a sturdy sheet of aluminum, they have phenomenal saturation and brightness. They are ready to hang with attached brackets and appear to "float" 3/4" off the wall. They look absolutely beautiful. The vivid, vibrant colors really pop on the metal background and provide a great "wow" factor. If you've been to one of my shows, you've seen how vibrant these metal prints really are.
